Desktop Graphic

What did I do? I considered using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, and Paint to create my desktop graphic. I decided to use Microsoft word because I knew I wanted to create something with adding shapes and Microsft Word has a shapes tool. I liked how it allowed me to choose from several different shapes. I just clicked on the Insert tab and clicked on whatever shapes I wanted. It also gave me several different choices on how I wanted to color them in. I didn't have any questions about what I was doing because it was pretty basic. The file type is Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003. I saved it under this type of file because then almost all computers can open up the document. The size of my file is 27.5 KB. When I double click my images it opens up the format tab. I think to improve student learning, both the teacher and the student should create images using the different softwares available. I think it would help students understand what they are learning. Also I think the teacher could better organize what he or she wants their students to learn by creating their own image. Here is my desktop graphic.

What did I learn? I learned how to create a document and adding different shapes to it.

How could I use it? I could use this in my classroom for worksheets and for homework assignments. I think it would be great for students to get into groups and create their own.
